5 INTERNATIONAL SAFETY CERTIFICATIONS
JS Italia Helmets are manufactured to the highest safety standards in the world. The glass and Kevlar composite fibres provide greater protection and greater impact resistance. Combining this with a softer polystyrene core distributes the impact energy, efficiently absorbing shocks. The interchangeable and washable interior is produced in all sizes (from 52 to 62) to ensure a perfect fit. Excellent ventilation keeps you cool even in the hottest conditions.

JS Italia Helmets are available as a special order item and take 2-3 weeks to deliver. The Lady and Classic helmets are available in matte or shiny and your choice of peak colour. Please contact us if your combination is not available from the above selections.

Description
THE IMPORTANCE OF SLIDING TO MINIMISE ROTATIONAL FORCES ON THE BRAIN
Only vertical impact is examined In the “drop” tests carried out in the laboratory, during which the helmet must be able to absorb all the energy in one single point.
However, when analysing what happens in real-life accidents, we see that that helmet must be able to slide over objects or on surfaces to diminish, as much as possible, the rotational kinetic energy of the impact. Therefore, the design of the helmet’s external surface is smooth, non-stick and free of bumps or protuberances.
Energy is initially absorbed at the 1st point of impact (A). Glancing off distributes energy to (B) and then to the end of the impact (C). Without this, all of the rotational energy would be concentrated at (A) increasing the risk of damage to the brain and cervical vertebrae.
