Available boot sizes are 2, 3, 4 and 5. Choose one of the packages or a set of 4 consteed boots (same size or a combination of 2 sizes). Please note that a set of 4 consteed boots (one for each leg) are required to carry out measurements.
Description
The consteed system is a measuring instrument that is not intended for everyday use and is not suitable for hoof protection. The overall service life depends on the individual usage scenario and may vary. After 30.000 steps, inspection is required to ensure continued measurement accuracy.
For a single measurement, we recommend a minimum of 30 steps. Depending on the usage scenario, this results in a practical range of approximately 400 to 800 measurements until the inspection.
This is because steps are also accumulated outside the actual measurement process — for example:
- between putting on the boots and starting the measurement
- in between multiple measurements while the horse continues to wear the boots
- during any other movement that is not part of a planned measurement
Our tip:
To maximize the number of measurements you can perform, the boots should only be worn during the actual measurement period and not left on unnecessarily.
If the hoof measurements fall between two sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size. Hoof socks (wraps) are included in the scope of delivery, which can help compensate for slight variations in size.
If the measurement is taken shortly before a hoof trim, we advise choosing the smaller size.
